The security capabilities include a complete WLAN and IPsec VPN clients. Authentication can be provided by the cell phone SIM card providing seamless secure roaming. Voice and multimedia communications are carried on optimized channels that ensure quality of service and compensate for lost or delayed packets. All operating modes are mapped to power saving capabilities of the host and communications process to provide the best possible battery life. The handset optimized solutions include the ability to offload processing from the cell phone host process to the WiFi communications chip. The PicoIWLAN+™ is fully tested on carrier networks for both IMS (AT&T) and UMA (Orange) deployments and has passed WiFi Alliance certification.
