At Marvell, we value the uniqueness that a diverse global team brings to our company and we are focused on creating an environment that fully leverages the perspectives and contributions of every individual. Respect is one of our core behaviors, and we require our global teams to treat everyone with respect at all times. Showing respect at Marvell includes being inclusive and embracing the diversity that each of us brings to the table every day. While we are still early in our inclusion and diversity journey, we’ve launched a number of initiatives over the last few years, and we are focused on making continuous progress in this important area. For the first time, we are pleased to share a few highlights of our actions during the 2020 calendar year.
We’ve benefited from having an exceptional board that brings both global experience and gender diversity to the table. Understanding that representation matters, we continue to look for ways to enhance our board even further where possible. That is why in July, we appointed Marachel Knight to Marvell’s board of directors. Marachel brings 25 years of telecommunications industry expertise, along with rich insights from her cultural background and unique lived experiences.
In October, we hired Mandisa Diggs, an experienced Inclusion & Diversity leader, to drive a holistic strategy focused on creating a more inclusive and globally diverse environment at Marvell.
We are committed to open and transparent communication, including ongoing disclosure of our diversity data. Releasing this data keeps us accountable and helps our investors, partners and employees track our progress. This year, and for the first time, we are pleased to release our global gender data and will continue this on an annual basis. In time, we’ll seek to expand our data with further insights.
Our inclusion and diversity data shows that we still have much to accomplish in the months and years ahead, but we are committed to building a more inclusive and diverse company and look forward to providing updates along the way.
