Supplier Responsibility Efforts
Supplier responsibility is often the crossroad where business demands intersect with societal and environmental obligations. Marvell recognizes how thoughtful supplier responsibility efforts can impact the quality of our products, meet the expectations of our customers and create better labor and business relationship with our suppliers.
At Marvell, we partner with suppliers to manufacture, assemble and test our integrated circuits. We’ve implemented a multi-layer approach to convey our supplier responsibility expectations to our direct suppliers throughout various stages of our procurement process. We rely on our suppliers to meet our high standards as well as industry expectations to ensure that working conditions in their operations are safe, that both employees and contractors are treated with respect and dignity, that minerals are sourced responsibly and that business operations are environmentally responsible and conducted ethically.
Engagement with Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC)
By joining the EICC, a dynamic industry association consisting of over 80 leading technology companies, including Apple, Cisco, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Samsung and Western Digital, Marvell works with its suppliers to improve the front lines of the manufacturing process – the lives, rights and working environment of the people building electronic products we can’t imagine our lives without.
Through our membership with the EICC, we believe we are able to promote higher standards across the industry as we coordinate change in partnership with our customers and peers and align our approach with industry-wide best practices.
EICC members support a common EICC Code of Conduct (EICC Code) that establishes standards for labor, health & safety, environmental practices, and ethics and management systems. Marvell has witnessed the rapid adoption of the EICC Code and how it is quickly becoming the industry standard for social responsibility in the electronics sector.
Marvell is committed to adopting and implementing the EICC Code, internally at Marvell and externally with our supply chain partners. With an ultimate goal to create a responsible supply chain, Marvell aims to work alongside our supply chain to ensure our partners are aligned and in compliance with the EICC Code.

Supplier Code of Conduct
Marvell’s Supplier Code of Conduct describes the corporate social responsibility (CSR) requirements for our suppliers and is based upon the EICC Code. The Supplier Code of Conduct references key Marvell policies including our Policy Statement on Conflict Minerals and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. It also encourages suppliers to operate in full conformance with the laws, rules and regulations of the countries in which they operate and to meet internationally recognized standards and best practices in order to advance social and environmental responsibility and business ethics.
The Supplier Code of Conduct is made up of five sections:
- Section A: Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations
- Section B: Adoption and Implementation of the EICC Code and Marvell Policy Statement on Conflict Minerals
- Section C: Compliance with Marvell Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
- Section D: Supplier Responsibility, sets forth the Supplier assessment, auditing and resolution processes and requirements of Marvell
- Section E: Reporting, describes the availability of Marvell Concern Line
Marvell expects every business decision to exhibit highest standards of ethical business conduct. This commitment is unwavering and applies to all suppliers through Marvell’s supply chain. Accordingly, the Supplier Code of Conduct is represented in the supplier agreements and a pivotal part of the supplier approval and vendor on-boarding process.
