Yulong Coolpad and Marvell Continue Close Collaboration in 4G LTE with the Latest Launch of the Coolpad 8705 Smartphone

Marvell's industry-leading ARMADA Mobile quad-core PXA 1088LTE single-chip solution continues to power Yulong Coolpad's rich line of smartphone products for the fast expanding 1,000 RMB mass market in China

Santa Clara, California (February 18, 2014) – Marvell (Nasdaq: MRVL) a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, today announced that China’s leading smartphone manufacturer, Yulong Coolpad, has launched a new TD-LTE entry-level 4G smartphone, the Yulong Coolpad 8705, for the China 1,000 RMB (approx U.S. $165) 4G LTE market. The 8705 smartphone is well positioned to support China Mobile’s projection to sell 100 million 4G LTE smart phones in 2014. Featuring Marvell’s highly integrated quad-core application and communications mobile System-on-Chip (SoC), the ARMADA® Mobile PXA1088LTE, Yulong Coolpad’s newest 4G smartphone further strengthens Marvell as a leader for the 4G LTE mass market in China. The 8705 smartphone supports all of China’s most popular modes: Time Division Long-Term Evolution (TD-LTE), Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) and Global Systems for Mobile (GSM). The Coolpad 8705 smartphone joins the current list of Marvell-powered Yulong Coolpad LTE products.

The latest smartphone features Marvell’s ARMADA Mobile PXA1088 LTE single-chip solution, Marvell’s advanced Avastar 88W8777 (Wi-Fi/BT 4.0/FM), 88RF838 and 88RF858 (RF), 88L1000 (GPS) and PM820 (audio/power management).
