OCTEON Fusion processors are single chip solutions for a variety of applications including baseband PHY layer and complete multi-sector base station-on-a-chip for macro base stations, micro base stations and disaggregated radio and distributed unit solutions. This family of processors target 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G NR radio networks. The OCTEON Fusion CNF95xx supports up to 3GPP release 15, while the CNF75xx macro base station processor and the CNF73xx micro base station processors support up to 3GPP LTE Release 13. Key features include highly optimized full custom processor cores, a highly efficient caching subsystem, high memory bandwidth, efficient baseband and packet processing hardware acceleration, as well as flexible and high performance digital signal processing capabilities.
The CNF95xx family of processors is an L1 implementation, supporting base station designs ranging from high capacity micro cells all the way up to multi sector macro cells distributed units supporting programmable numerologies up to 16 MIMO layers of 100Mhz each. Additionally, multiple OCTEON Fusion CNF95xx chips can be cascaded for even denser deployments or higher order MIMO. The CNF95xx family integrates highly optimized custom 64-bit ARM cores and multiple VLIW DSP engines, along with a host of hardware accelerators for the wireless modem pipeline, network processing, and traffic shaping.
