The industry’s first 6 Gb/s SATA port multiplier, the 88SM97xx series leverages our leading SATA PHY technology to deliver excellent SATA device compatibility, signal integrity, and best-in-class cost/performance for SATA storage enclosures used in set-top boxes, NAS, DVR, and public cloud computing solutions. The 88SM97xx family supports one SATA 6Gb/s host port and up to five SATA 6Gb/s device ports with backward compatibility to 3Gb/s and 1.5Gb/s.

3G Sata Port Multiplier

The 88SM4140 SATA port multiplier consolidates the capacity of storage devices by allowing multiple SATA devices connected to a single SATA port. This port multiplier employs Marvell’s SATA 3.0 Gb/s PHY technology and support FIS for better performance.
