Marvell's new high-performance SoC further strengthens the company’s 4G LTE commitment to accelerating mobile broadband adoption with a scalable design that supports the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) initiative to award 4G TD-LTE licenses to China's operators: China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. The 4G era in China has just begun and users in China can enjoy the high-speed mobile broadband and wireless multimedia services. Based on the Marvell's certified multimode modem and power-efficient ARM Cortex A7 quad-core platform, ARMADA Mobile PXA1088LTE Family provides the OEM/ODM partners a scalable design to address different market segments for different operators' requirements with three configurations. The high performance PXA1088LTE Pro features a 1.5GHz CPU and supports up to 1080p full-HD display for a premium smart phone or tablet. Its predecessor, the Marvell PXA1088LTE platform, features a 1.2GHz CPU and supports up to 720p HD display. Both products are capable of supporting 5 communication standards including TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, and EDGE/GSM for 4G LTE operators worldwide. To support China Mobile’s 1,000RMB mass market smart phones, a cost-effective solution based on the required communication standards, TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA, and EDGE/GSM, is available with a simplified RF design. Marvell's advanced 4G LTE modem technology is field proven and certified by major global operators. As a part of the Marvell ARMADA Mobile product family, the PXA1088LTE Pro is designed to support the highest levels of performance available in the industry today with Category 4 speed of 150 Mbps DL (Down Link) and support for LTE in both FDD and TDD modes. Additionally, the PXA1088LTE Pro features field proven WCDMA and TD-SCDMA modem technology with a dual-radio dual link LTE voice solution, in addition to a Circuit Switched Fallback (CSFB) voice solution, and Voice over LTE (VoLTE) based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) technology. The platform includes the advanced Avastar® wireless technology with either cost-efficient IEEE802.11n or high-throughput IEEE802.11ac Wi-Fi options in a flexible mobile platform + Bluetooth 4.0 + FM as a single-chip. The platform also includes the L2000 GNSS Hybrid Location Processor, as well as an integrated power management and audio codec IC.
