Marvell Launches ARMADA Mobile PXA 1936 Octa-Core 64-bit 5-Mode 4G LTE Turnkey Reference Design to Accelerate the Mass Adoption of Mobile Solutions

Marvell's innovative turnkey solution is designed to reduce OEM's time-to-market and optimize the BOM cost of high performance smartphones and tablets

SANTA CLARA, Calif. / TAIPEI, Taiwan (June 1, 2015) – Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL) – a worldwide leader in providing complete silicon solutions from mobile communications to storage, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud infrastructure, digital entertainment, in-home content delivery and Kinoma® software enabling the “Smart Life and Smart Lifestyle” – today announced the launch of Marvell’s ARMADA® Mobile PXA1936 octa-core 64-bit 5-mode 4G LTE turnkey reference design to accelerate the mass adoption of mobile solutions. Building on the recently announced ARMADA Mobile PXA1936 system-on-chip (SoC), the PXA1936 turnkey reference platform provides complete design collateral including hardware design, full software release, and manufacturing tools dramatically reducing OEM’s time-to-market as well as optimizing the bill of materials (BOM) cost of smartphones and tablets. The platform also includes Marvell’s RF transceiver RF858, power management IC, PM880, with integrated audio codec and battery charger, Marvell’s award-winning Avastar® 88W8777, and location solution, L200R.

The PXA1936 octa-core turnkey reference design is a major effort by Marvell to provide end-to-end solutions, building on Marvell’s advanced SoC designs, which are optimized for performance and cost. With Marvell’s turnkey reference platform, an OEM can drastically reduce the time to mass production with the approved and required carrier and field testing.
