Marvell Co-Founder Weili Dai to Join U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women's Issues, Melanne Verveer, as Featured Speakers at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Women and the Economy Summit

APEC WES summit to focus on growing the global economy by expanding the role of women entrepreneurs and business leaders

Santa Clara, California (September 13, 2011) – Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), a worldwide leader in integrated silicon solutions, today announced that Weili Dai, co-founder of the company, will be speaking at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women and the Economy Summit (WES) to be held on September 13-16, 2011 in San Francisco. Weili Dai is a co-chair of the APEC WES Steering Committee, CalAPEC Host Committee, and an official U.S. delegate to APEC WES. One of the leading women entrepreneurs in the world today, Ms. Dai will drive forward thinking discussions about best practices that can help the developing world support women in business and technology.

For the Summit, Ms. Dai has assembled an all-star group of women from all walks of life to participate in a panel luncheon, “Technology and Women’s Entrepreneurship in APEC Economies,” which will discuss the role of education, technology, public- private research, and government policy has played in building the foundation for innovation in the United States. For this panel, Ms. Dai will be joined by several influential woman leaders and entrepreneurs from a variety of industries as follows: Deborah Forte, President of Scholastic Media; Kathy Hill, Senior Vice President of Cisco; Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren; Professor Claire Tomlin, Ph.D, U. C. Berkeley College of Engineering; and Dr. Telle Whitney, President and CEO of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology. Madame Meng Xiaosi, Vice President of the All-China Women’s Federation, and Ginger Lew, Senior Counselor, White House National Economic Council and Small Business Administration Administrator, will also provide a special welcome address to reflect on the China and US government’s progress in fostering women entrepreneurs. Together these women will discuss their specific areas of expertise and share insights about how their personal success can be replicated and elevated to strengthen Asian-Pacific economies.

APEC WES is the premier event bringing together senior private and public sector players for a dialogue on fostering women’s economic empowerment among the APEC economies.
