The Alaska® F and Alaska G families of Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet physical layer (PHY) transceivers are built on Marvell’s legacy of unique, best-in-class features that enable customers to expand their Ethernet applications. With efficient design and a high level of integration, Alaska F and Alaska G PHY devices offer low power dissipation, small form factors, high performance and advanced feature sets.
Alaska F octal-port devices lead the industry with the lowest power consumption, resulting in reduced fan requirements, while the Alaska G devices allow thermal-efficient packages for fanless, heat sink-less designs. Both PHY families feature Marvell’s Virtual Cable Tester® (VCT) technology, allowing IT managers and networking equipment manufacturers to remotely analyze the quality and attributes of the cable, avoiding unnecessary equipment returns and on-site service calls.
The Alaska M family of 2.5G, 5G and 10G PHY devices is designed to enable enterprises to migrate to mGig Ethernet networking infrastructure quickly and cost-effectively. Alaska M PHY devices offer high performance, design simplicity and extremely low power dissipation, while supporting Category 5e, 6 and 6A type cables for distances up to 100 meters.
Compatible with the NBASE-T Alliance specification for 2.5G and 5G data rate over Cat 5e cables, Alaska M devices use DSP technology to enable the repurposing of low-cost CAT 5e Ethernet cables for data rates as high as 5 Gbps, supplanting the use of optical technology for applications such as Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6/E access point backhaul, switches, servers, workstations and high-end PCs.
The Alaska M 10G PHY devices enable broad-based market adoption of 10 GbE network connectivity over Cat 6A cabling, supporting the roll-out of Wi-Fi 7 and networking infrastructure modernization. Alaska M 10G devices boast the industry’s lowest power, highest performance and smallest form factor in their category and integrate features such as Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), PTP/1588v2, SyncE, MACsec, and support for all PoE standards up to 100W.
The Alaska C family of Ethernet transceivers are designed for high-speed 400 GbE, 200 GbE, 100 GbE, 50 GbE and 25 GbE line card applications and feature the industry’s lowest power, highest performance and smallest form factor.
Alaska C devices incorporate the industry’s highest performance 25G NRZ, 56G and 112G PAM4 SerDes technology to support full-duplex transmission over a variety of media including optics, passive direct attach cables and copper backplanes. The family includes transceivers that support IEEE 802.1AE 256-bit MACsec encryption and highly accurate IEEE 1588 PTP timestamping. This comprehensive and innovative feature set enables network equipment manufacturers to deliver systems with increased throughput, enhanced security and timing precision for hyperscale data center, edge, enterprise and 5G infrastructure applications.

The Marvell Alaska A is a PAM4 DSP (Digital Signal Processing) retimer product family (800G/400G) for Active Electrical Cable (AEC) application, optimized for Switch to Switch and Switch to Server connectivity inside next generation cloud data center, high-performance computing and AI systems. Alaska A 400G/800G are retimer devices which utilizes a 112G Gbps PAM4 DSP SERDES for optimal performance with greater than 40dB loss on both the Line and Host interfaces.
