Dear Customers and Partners:
As recent days have revealed the escalating gravity of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are all confronting a sobering new reality. With so many family members and friends at risk of infection, millions of us confined to our homes, and all our companies dealing with extraordinary challenges, these are surreal times. But they will get better, and Marvell is committed to doing its part to making sure we get through this as quickly as possible with as little impact on the health of our communities and businesses as possible. And we have taken actions to help achieve these goals – all while seeking to fully support our customers throughout this unprecedented crisis.
Prioritizing Health & Safety
Our first priority has been ensuring the health and safety of our families, friends and co-workers. With this in mind, I want to share with you what Marvell has done to mitigate the spread of the virus among our team and the communities we call home.
Building on lessons we learned through our operations in China and other parts of Asia earlier this year, Marvell has implemented comprehensive work-from-home policies for our teams around the world. We have enabled our global teams to work effectively from remote locations by equipping them with the tools they need to execute their responsibilities, collaborate closely, and serve our customers productively. To protect our employees who are working on-site in any of our facilities, we have implemented safety protocols including social distancing, staggered work schedules and intense disinfection of our facilities every day.
To protect those with whom we interact outside the company – including our customers, suppliers and partners – we have shifted from face-to-face meetings to videoconferencing. Despite the obstacles this pandemic has imposed, we remain committed to maintaining our levels of engagement and service to you. Our sales and field engineering teams are available to support your commercial and technical needs around the clock, and our engineering teams continue to closely track all products in development.
Maintaining Business Continuity and Transparency
Our next priority is maintaining business continuity. As you are surely managing the effects of COVID-19 on your own operations, you know that flexibility and adaptation are increasingly essential. Please know that the entire Marvell team is doing everything possible to ensure continuity in our business operations, to meet our obligations to you, and to remain responsive to your needs.
We have also coordinated with our partners and suppliers as we seek to minimize any impact of the pandemic within our supply chains. As issues have arisen, we have worked to find alternate sources or shipping routes to mitigate any impact on delivery dates. Given the global nature of our industry’s ecosystem, as well as the very fluid nature of the current situation, I cannot promise there will be no bumps or obstacles on the road ahead. But I can promise transparency as we travel this road together.
Our Partnership
In difficult and uncertain times, it’s incumbent upon us as leaders to recognize what lies beyond our power and focus instead on the things we can control. Perhaps the most fundamental of these things is our own attitude, as fortitude and optimism can be inspirational among those with whom we interact. So while the coming months will certainly be challenging for all of us, I’m confident that we’ll pull through, together.
In the meantime, may you, your family and your employees remain healthy. And if at any time you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Marvell contact, or to me directly.
Sincerely,
Matt Murphy
