The Marvell 88SS5000 is an NVMe over Fabrics™ (NVMe-oF™) SSD controller supporting single and dual port 25Gb RoCE v2 (RDMA over Converged Ethernet) functionality. This breakthrough solution is designed to enable a new class of enterprise and data center SSDs that will significantly lower total cost of ownership. The controller is powered by Marvell’s fourth generation NANDEdge™ LDPC error correction technology, providing support for 3D NAND TLC and QLC technologies, and extending SSD lifetime while maintaining best-in-class latency and performance consistency.
The Marvell PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD controller family, consisting of the 88SS1321, 88SS1322 and 88SS1323 devices, are focused on enabling next-generation data center, edge computing and client applications by optimizing power-performance, capacity-performance, endurance, reliability and security in ultra small package sizes. Fabricated on a 12nm process, the devices in the family bring support covering all existing and emerging m.2 (22110 to 2230), BGA, EDSFF and U.2 SSD form factors.
The 4-channel 88SS1084 and 8-channel 88SS1100 are the sixth generation of NVMe-based controllers from Marvell. This SSD controller family is aimed at mainstream and high-performance PC clients and edge computing SSDs. The Gen 3x4 PCIe® controllers integrate Marvell’s fourth generation of NANDEdge™ technology, offering the advanced error correction capabilities to address the increasing demands required to enable future SSD solutions with emerging 96-layer triple level-cell (TLC) and quad level-cell (QLC) NAND architectures.
The Marvell® 88SS1098 and 88SS1088 are PCIe Gen3x4 SSD controllers supporting single and dual port functionality, the NVMe 1.3 standard and emerging open channel architectures. Both controllers are powered by Marvell Gen4 NANDEdge™ LDPC error correction technology, providing support for 3D NAND TLC and QLC technologies, extending SSD lifetime while maintaining best-in-class latency and performance consistency.
Marvell industry-leading SATA SSD controller, the 88SS1074 provides support for 6 Gb/s SATA host interface and 4 channel NAND interface up to 8 devices per channel. It also consumes less power than existing solutions, making it one of the most power efficient SSD controllers on the market. The 88SS1074 is equipped with Marvell NANDEdge™ error correction technology.
The Marvell family of low cost DRAM-less SATA/PCIe NVM Express SSD controllers. The 88NV11xx family supports both 16x20 and 11.5x13mm BGA SSDs as well as standalone packages to be used in M.2 modules. They differentiate in the host and NAND interface. The 88NV1120 has a 6 Gb/s SATA interface with 2 channel NAND interface. The 88NV1160 supports AHCI and NVMe protocols and the Host Memory Buffer feature can boost Random Read/Write performance. The 88NV11xx controllers are all equipped with Marvell NANDEdge™ error correction technology.
The 88SS1092 and 88SS1093 are Marvell NVM Express (NVMe) SSD controllers capable of PCIe 3.0 X 4 end points providing a 4GB/s interface to host. These controllers advance a solid-state storage system to a fully Flash-optimized architecture and unleash performance without limits.
