At Marvell, innovation isn't just a buzzword; it's a deeply ingrained value that drives our success. This commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing new ideas is evident in initiatives like TAP (Technical Acceleration Program). Designed to empower our engineers, TAP equips them with the tools and resources to not only innovate but also make a lasting impact on their teams and foster a culture of continuous learning.
TAP accelerates the careers of talented, high-potential engineers by providing hands-on experiences, mentorship from senior technical leaders, and skill-building workshops led by external experts. Participants expand their skill sets while contributing to Marvell's innovative culture.
Daniela Murin, a Staff Engineer at Marvell for the past five years, embodies this spirit. "I've always been drawn to intellectually challenging work," she explains. Even before attending university, where she pursued a degree in computer science, she knew she’d want a career in STEM.
At Marvell, her team creates the software that powers our cutting-edge hardware. When she had the opportunity to participate in TAP, she embraced it wholeheartedly. "The program truly excelled in its immersive learning environment," she shares. "The lessons provided valuable skills on how to actively push ourselves forward."
But TAP's impact extended beyond the classroom. "Even before the lessons began," Daniela reflects, "the program's emphasis on introspection was invaluable. In our day-to-day jobs, we often forget to pause and consider our professional growth within the company. Where we want to go and how we should achieve it. TAP provided dedicated time for self-reflection and development, encouraging the participants to explore new professional opportunities for growth within the company. It made me excited for what’s next in my career at Marvell. Thanks to the TAP program I’ve been able to grow my career, changing into a role that challenged me. I believe the program truly helped me better understand what I wanted and act on it - once the opportunity presented itself."
This focus on self-reflection resonated with Saleem Dibini, a computer engineer who joined Marvell after graduating university with a degree in computer engineering. He was drawn to Marvell by the opportunity to combine his passions for both hardware and software, contributing to design and verification.
"My love for technology came at the early age of four when I started learning how to play chess. By age eight, I was solving logic puzzles online."
For Saleem, TAP provided a platform to further his growth within the company. “I was excited about TAP's focus on networking, impact, influence, and pushing boundaries. Learning about growth mindset and overcoming the fear of failure was particularly impactful. Understanding how to analyze setbacks and move forward has significantly shifted my perspective in both my professional work and personal life.
I now feel more comfortable sharing ideas and making suggestions, knowing that even if it won't succeed, I can learn and grow from the experience. The program's project component was also invaluable. We developed a project internally, pitching it to leadership and planning its budget and resources. This provided hands-on experience in product leadership. While our project didn't become part of the product line, it allowed us to innovate freely and embrace new ideas. Furthermore, it enabled us to collaborate with new teams, expanding our networks and increasing our impact.”
Noam Mizrahi, EVP, Corporate CTO, and TAP’s Executive Sponsor, added “TAP is designed to give top technical talent the tools, resources, and opportunities to thrive and grow their careers at Marvell. Participants gain meaningful experiences that prepare them to drive innovation and excellence.”
With more than 120 of our employees participating yearly in the program in multiple countries worldwide, we are excited to see its impact on their career growth and what they’ll accomplish next.
